Back to back lengths...Extraordinary huh??

Yeah so pretty fond I have become of swimming !
Our pool is like 50 mts long N each morning we would do like 10 lengths
(actually 3/4th of de length cos of de partition meant for ppl still who r learning to swim !)
N after dis we do 10mins of fooling around in the water !

So during dese 10mins My frnd usually tries back stroke & while I practice holding my breath inside water
…N deres a good reason to do dis holding my breath activity!
Well should I ever be singled out for a reality tv show like Fear factor whr I get Big cash for some water stunt which mit need dis skill !!
Or
should I someday be in a situation similar to Dr. Miranda Gray(Halle berry in gothika) desperately tryin to escape from an asylum & has to hide under de pool holding her breath for quite a long time
…..hehe
So till a few days back I had all the time to think & do all such weird N creepy stuff until my dear friend decided to increase the number of rounds from 10 to 15.
Wattttttttttttt???? De dialogue in my mind "yeah y not,since we r representing India in the next Olympics,we shud definitely do dis !"

Well despite this initial freakin out we did manage to move from 10 to 15 rounds.
But as if dis wasn enuf,de nex day we came across a female who was lik definitely a swimming Champ or smthin,pretty clear was dis from the way she effortlessly went to N fro in the water,dat too the full lengths N yeah back to back i.e without any breaks !

My frnd was pretty impressed wid the female,the light in her eyes didn’t remotely suggest the impending danger !
i didn know that this admiration N appreciation would soon metamorphosis into an inspiration to try the same !
yeah ,my frnd now wanted to do de lengths back to back too !

Aww,phleaseee ,I didn hav the stamina of dat degree.
in the 15 rounds itself I barely managed to kick legs to make it to the next end !
I run out f breath N I fear dat someday mit drown due to a muscular fatigue or maybe due to Incapacitation through shallow water blackout(hehe ,read dese terms while reading abt the risks involved in swimming in WIKI didn knw dey will becum handy so soon !)

But since all this was one of my another Mental Conversations N in the end of it I blurted out an Ok,as I usually do !
Let s go on the count of 3 den -said my frnd N I nodded in yes !
N after our first round itself I was out of breath,but thanks to the affirmative response to the apparently suicidal idea of swimming lengths back to back that I had given ,I had to stick by wat I committed .
Den suddenly dunno y ,I looked at my palm n saw how big my lifeline was,dis wont kill me I said !
Thanks to the cosmic signal ,i was game for dis now !
Off we went again .For our second length back to back,Which was completed quite smoothly!

Well so it does sound like normal swimming regime exaggerated to a great extent !...haha….does rite? but hey making big deal out of the ordinary things that happen to us ,makes life Extraordinary ....doesn t it !

swimmin ...worth it !

Yeah so I did put on a few extra pounds, & thnx to my friends who brought dis forth ,I had ample time to plan a fitness regime that I would embark on to come bac in shape !

Dese friends of mine didn’t themselves quite have the physique of john abrahim ! nowhere even close…lol(they r working on it though)
but yeah when it comes to gals they are always on lookout for hot chicks with lik wash-board abs and whose vital stats would match that of a model !

so I wasn much surprised when they threw some light on the fact that I had put on weight ! and would grow out of shape if didn’t do something abt it soon !

One of my friends used to go for joggin & I decided to join her in that but the lazy bum I am ….it takes more than an alarm to get me out of bed…
So ofcos the joggin thing didn last much the initial enthusiasm died down soon !

My mom proposed to take up yoga at home !
The idea was quite appealing cos neither did I have to forfeit my sleep nor go out early morning !
I could exercise at my own pace in my own bed !...so yeah I did try a few postures of yoga for a few days but later I realized that I spent much of my time in de ShavAsan( dose who dunno—its simply lying down n eventually people fall asleep )

So joggin n yoga were no good !
Den came the idea to go for dance classes !
I love dancing N dis way I could workout N have fun too,but to my despair dey had the classes on weekends only
So dancing wud mean giving up on the lazing around on weekends ! so de idea was dropped instantly !

Now Dere is dis friend of mine who had recently joined swimming & so happy was he with it that he time & again would ask me to join too !
N I always threw cold water on his enthusiasm,until one day one of my female friend got interested & asked me to accompany her to the pool jus to check out the place !

N yeah so swimming appealed to me too ! the water baby that I am !It took quite an effort to actually get started ,procuring a decent swimming gear ,enrolling for the batch n all !
But ultimately I did take up swimming. much to the surprise of my friends & folks !
Dat too the morning batch , 6 in the morning !

Early morning ,around 5.40 ..I crawl out of my bed & drive like 4 miles to go to the place !
N den de sluggish ,heavy eyed me looks at the water -

1…2….& 3…. (I actually make my frnd say dat before we dive )

Splash N into the pool…….slashing the lucid blue water !
..ummm ! Worth It !
